Rentals
The O’Neill’s facilities and grounds are a wonderful place to hold your next private party, corporate event, wedding, or fundraiser. Availability is varied based on the needs of O’Neill programs in residence, but the unique venues can be the perfect location for a truly special event! Details and rates are listed below, but please email rentals@theoneill.org for more information.
The O’Neill maintains a list of excellent local vendors and can assist with event coordination. A security deposit and liability coverage up to $1,000,000 are required for all rentals. Non-profit rates available.
The Sunken Garden
Outdoor space, with stunning views of the Long Island Sound. This space has the greatest availability and works well when tented, even well into the autumn. Can accommodate up to 300 for a seated dinner. Rental fees begin at $2,500.
The Sea Porch
Outdoor porch of the Hammond Mansion, with great water views. The Sea Porch is a great location for a smaller reception, cocktail party or luncheon. Can accommodate approximately 50 people for a standing reception. Some limited seating available. Rental fees begin at $750.
The Barn
An iconic O’Neill building, the Rufus & Margo Rose Barn is original to the property and has a great rustic feel, with a spacious patio and water view. The Barn has limited availability, but can accommodate approximately 150 people for a seated dinner, more for a non-seated event. The Barn has played host to dances, wine tastings, concerts, weddings and anniversaries and rental fees begin at $3,000. (Unavailable June 1-August 15)
The Dina
An expansive indoor space, the Dina Merrill Theater offers the greatest flexibility in configuration. This bright theater has large south-facing windows looking out at the property and the water. This building also offers the highest ceilings and most floor space. Capacity for a seated event is approximately 200. Rental fees begin at $2,500. (Unavailable June 1-August 15)
Blue Gene's Pub
The Pub is great for casual, smaller events, holding up to 50 people indoors and more if the patio is used. This space serves as an actual working Pub during the summer, so as a rental offers a serving area, small stage, and pub-style seating, as well as an outdoor patio. Rental fees begin at $750.
The Nelson & Aida White House
Moved to the property in the 1980s, the former Von Winkle Mansion once known as “Ironsides” offers lovely indoor reception and meeting space, as well as an outdoor patio. This lovely home serves as residential and office quarters for the O’Neill much of the year, but the open first floor parlor, living room and the Founders Room are often available for private parties and receptions. Indoor capacity is approximately 75 people and rental fees begin at $750.
